14-y-o among two charged for possession of prohibited weapon
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A St Thomas labourer and a teenage boy have been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon following an incident in the parish on July 5.
The accused are 20-year-old Delano Willis, otherwise called ‘Delli’, and a 14-year-old boy, both of a St Thomas address.
According to reports from the Morant Bay Police, an off-duty police officer was at an event in the area when he received information alleging that individuals were seen with a firearm.
Acting on the information, the officer reportedly observed Willis handing what appeared to be a firearm to the 14-year-old.
Based on this observation, both were searched, following which a green imitation firearm was seen in the teen’s waistband.
They were taken into custody and subsequently charged following question-and-answer sessions conducted in the presence of their attorneys and the teen’s guardian.
A court date is being finalised for both.
