LIME pleased with Dream Weekend investment
TELECOMMUNICATIONS provider LIME says it is extremely pleased with the success of the Smirnoff Dream Weekend, which it sponsored.
LIME was a first time sponsor this year and invested heavily in the party series. And its regional special projects manager Stephen Price said the firm was not disappointed with the return on investment.
A key part of LIME’s activation for the weekend was the showcase of its 3G network. According to Price, the Dream weekend gave LIME the perfect opportunity to engage its customers with the service.
“During the Dream Weekend, we guaranteed that our customers would be able to access their messages, emails and surf the internet without any problems. Patrons on the LIME network enjoyed 3G network coverage and had no network congestion at all. We went all out to ensure that our customers were happy,” said Price.
He also revealed that 80 lucky customers were winners in a text, call and win promotion that gave them highly coveted dream weekend tickets. ‘Dreamers’ were treated to giveaways including handsets, call credit and LIME-branded gear over the weekend.
According to Price, the Dream Weekend represents one of the key activations for the brand over the summer holiday period. Though Price would not disclose the exact dollar figure of the investment in the weekend, he was quick to point out that LIME benefitted from high returns.
“There is no other event in the region that brings together a captive audience of 60,000 for the weekend including fun-loving partygoers,” says Price.
“LIME is happy to be a part of this truly Jamaican experience as a company headed and run by Jamaicans. We are the country’s only full service provider and have been competing vigorously in all our markets — landline, internet, mobile and business solutions,” he added.
According to Price, LIME has invested approximately $3 billion in the expansion of its 3G mobile network to cover St Catherine, Ocho Rios, Negril and Montego Bay. In addition, its launch of Jamaica’s first digital Mobile TV service is set to redefine the mobile market.
“This level of investment and innovation demonstrates that we will continue to give Jamaicans the kind of world class technology and value they deserve,” Price added.
