Spanish Grain Store defeated Scotiabank ‘B’ 3-0 in the Division One final of the 2012 Business House Five-A-Side Football League at the NWC Playfield, Mona, on Saturday.

In the division two final, Food For The Poor clipped Cari-Med Limited 1-0 to win their first Business House football title.

In the day’s features, it was an even affair between Spanish Grain and Scotiabank ‘B’ until the 23rd minute, with Anthony Greenland, Akeeli Martin and Ramoun Reid failing to score for the latter, as goalkeeper Kavon Salmon made some fine saves.

Spanish Grain Store, too, had their wasted opportunities with Roberto Fletcher, Kemar Flemmings and Richad Martin being the main culprits.

However, they took the lead when an unmarked Juvaunni Benjamin fired past a hapless Tavar Mcqueen in goal.

Spanish Grain made the game safe with a double from Dean Phillips.

The victors received $60,000, while Scotiabank ‘B’ collected $30,000. Goalkeeper Kavon Salmon of Spanish Grain Store was adjudged the Division One MVP, and for that he received $3,500 and a Falcoa football boots from Western Sports.

In the Division Two finale, Food for The Poor dominated Cari-Med for the entire game but faulty shooting by Tyrone Morrison, Richards Burrowes, Mario Francis and Jason Vassell and also excellent goalkeeping from Devon Blake combined to let them down.

Jamar Mohan from Cari-Med had the easiest opportunity to score when he got a defence-splitting pass from Paul Henry in the 30th minute, and with the empty goal to score in, he kicked wide.

For that, his team paid dearly as Dane Clake found the winner in the 33rd minute when he headed in a throw.

For their efforts, Foor for The Poor received $40,000, while Cari-Med got $20,000. Dane Richard was the Division Two MVP and he received $3,500 and a Falcoa football boots from Western Sports.
