Flip-Flop Fun, Part II
Last week I showed you how to make the invitations, so this week I’ll show you a great way to carry through the theme of the party with banners — Flip-Flop banners, personalised for your little one.
To carry the beach theme through I bought lots of beach balls wholesale so they dictated the colour scheme, a bit off from the invitation, but perfect for a bright and playful party décor. I tried finding tropical-themed floral paper, but couldn’t, and so had to come up with a great alternative.
For this project you will need:
*Clear floral cellophane wrapping paper
*Bright coloured cartridge papers
*Slipper templates from last week
*Glue stick
*Scissors
*Floral leis
You will then:
*Use large templates to mark out slippers on the coloured cartridge paper
*Cover with glue
*Carefully apply floral cellophane paper using a flat-edge tool or spatula to smooth in place
*When dry, cut out slippers, ensuring you cut out a 1 X 5-inch length flap at the heel, for attaching to lei (pictured)
*Create lettering for name and age (if using) and space sufficiently then print.
*Cut out individual letters and numbers using smaller slipper template
*Be sure that you mark left foot and right foot slippers and lettering
*Glue lettering to floral flip flop and then attach to lei, spacing each slipper equally
Voila! Your flip-flop banner: fun, bright and tropical for your beach-themed party.
