Forsythe gives back to his alma mater
WAKEFIELD, Trelawny — IAAF World Championships 200m semi-finalist Mario Forsythe has donated a quantity of track and field gear to his former high school, Muschett High, to help the athletes prepare for the upcoming track and field season.
Forsythe, who represented Jamaica at last year’s IAAF World Championships in Daegu, South Korea, recently donated training shoes, spikes, long and shorts tights, vests and sweat suits, while he was on a break between the end of last season and the start of preparation for the 2013 season.
The athlete with the highest profile to attend the Wakefield-based institution, Forsythe, who won a number of gold medals at the County of Cornwall Athletics Association (COCAA) Western Championships, has been based in Kingston for the past few seasons and trains with the Glen Mills-led Racers Track Club.
