Dennis Chung releases new book
OBSERVER columnist and chartered accountant, Dennis Chung, recently released a second book, Achieving Life’s Equilibrium: balancing health, wealth, and happiness for optimal living.
The book looks at creating an equilibrium mix between principles of health, wealth, and social interactions to consistently improve life quality. It illustrates that focusing primarily on one area to the detriment of the others will lead to life unhappiness and discontentment. The book shows how to apply these principles to build a quality life, which Chung says is based on his own, and the experiences of others he has seen, and has given advice to.
The book starts with a quote from the Dalai Lama, who when questioned about what surprised him the most about humanity, answered “Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then he dies having never really lived.”
In the week and a half the book has been on Amazon (paperback and Kindle versions) it moved from a ranking, on the day of Hurricane Sandy, from over 288,000 on the paid Kindle list, to 5,311 and was ranked number 15 in the personal growth category. It has so far received all five star reviews on Amazon.
Chung prefers to encourage the purchase of the eBook version from Amazon, but has indicated that he will have a few signed copies available for those who express an interest.
