RAMNARESH Sarwan and Dave Kissoon have resigned from the board of the West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA).

In a release yesterday, WIPA’s CEO Michael Hall, thanked both men for their service to the association that looks out for the welfare of Caribbean cricketers.

“Both Ramnaresh and Dave have in their own ways contributed to WIPA’s progress. We certainly wish Ramnaresh all the very best in his future cricket career as we are certain that he still has a great deal to contribute to West Indies cricket.

“We are also grateful for Dave’s service to WIPA in his two years as a director, and hope that his future career is also highly successful,” Jamaican Hall was quoted as saying.

Sarwan, the out-of-favour West Indies batsman, was a member of WIPA’s executive from 2008, while Kissoon was appointed a director in November 2010.

WIPA’s next AGM is scheduled for January 2013, at which time the vacant positions are expected to be filled.

Long-serving president and WIPA’s most visible face, Trinidadian Dinanath Ramnarine, quit the leadership position earlier this year.
