Around the Entertainment Globe – December 4

1. The Wii U, Nintendo’s latest hardware video game system, sold approximately 475,000 units during its debut week in the United States. This is 200,000 less than its predecessor, the Wii, did for its launch in 2006.

2. Head Concussion Records’ flagship artiste Chan Dizzy, dropped the visuals for his current radio bubbler No Hypocrite Hail.

3. British soul singer Adele’s 21, has become the first album since Usher’s Confessions in 2004, to be awarded a Diamond plaque in recognition of sales totalling over 10 million copies in the United States alone. Also, Rihanna scored her first number-one album in that country, with Unapologetic selling 238,000 copies in its first week.

4. Rappers the Game and Quo, have launched a record label called Rolex Records. The Game and Stat Quo were former label mates at Dr Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment.

5. Singer-songwriter Skylar Grey, the artiste, who co-penned hits such as Eminem and Rihanna’s Love the Way You Lie, Lupe Fiasco’s Words Never Said, and more, released a new single entitled C’Mon Let Me Ride. The song features her new label boss Eminem, and serves as her second attempt at a first single, after last year’s Invisible underperformed chart wise.
