Olivier Shield finalists snare 8 All-Schools slots
FOUR players each from daCosta Cup champions Glenmuir High and Manning Cup champions St George’s College were yesterday named to an 18-member All-Schools football team named by the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) for a three-match tour of South Florida next week.
Meanwhile, Ben Francis KO champions St Elizabeth Technical and Walker Cup KO champions Wolmer’s Boys’ provide three players apiece.
The team will play three games in Ft Lauderdale next week and leaves on Monday, December 11 and return on Sunday, the 17th.
Andre Lewis, Zhelano Barnes, Romario Jones and goalkeeper Nico Campbell were selected from St George’s, while Kamal Henry, Newton Henry, Noel Johnson and Oneeph Barrett were chosen from Glenmuir.
STETHS’ Jason Jacobs, Keith Sanderson and Carl Campbell; Wolmer’s Tazeo Gilpin, Amal Knight and Keemo Wallace; Rennico Clarke from Seaforth; Melvin Blaire of Mannings; Ojai Bedward of Excelsior and Neiko Taylor of Clarendon College complete the squad.
Glenmuir’s coach Patrick ‘Jackie’ Walters is the squad’s technical director, with Warren Simpson (Glenmuir), and STETHS’ Omar Wedderburn the coaches.
