Vybrant releases video for Hurt Mi Head
SINGJAY Vybrant has released the video for his latest song, Hurt Mi Heart which he says was inspired by the death of a friend.
“A lot of emotion went into the making of the video. Just the fact that it’s a real-life situation, it brings back a lot of memories,” said Vybrant (given name Andre Johnson).
The video was directed by Jerome Hyde of Unplugged Multimedia.
Vybrant, whose first hit was Ears Hard, has recorded a number of songs in recent months. They include Nah Fight the Law on the Journey rhythm from UIM Records; and Dirt Poor which he did for producer Jamie Roberts.
Before accepting the Rastafari faith, Vybrant was known as hardcore deejay Squeechie Killer.
Serious medical issues stalled his career for two years, during which he discovered the message of Emperor Haile Selassie I and Pan-African ideology of Marcus Garvey.
