Gimme what’s mine, says Eljai

Catch Di Riddim

Belizean reggae artiste Eljai had his most fulfilling year in 2012, thanks to the hit song 24/7. He is looking to follow-up with his latest single, Gimmie.

The song is a joint production between Eljai, Galore Productions and Carl McGregor.

“With this song, I am trying something new because I love to do songs for the ladies, and Eljai has a mission to unify the masses musically,” he said.

Prior to 24/7, Eljai entered the Jamaica Music Countdown, New York and South Florida Reggae charts with The Leaders.

“Over the past year, I decided to take a hands-on approach to my career. I am now free to do whatever I want to do because I have full control over my work. That for me is a great accomplishment,” said Eljai.

Born Lloyd McFarlane, the singer is based in California. His songs include Don’t Leave and Blessed which features Capleton.

Thugsy Malone aims high in 2013

Thugsy Malone is hoping for big things in 2013. Last year, he made headway with the song Wash Away the Pain which earned him a guest spot on road shows promoted by telecommunications company Digicel.

His current single and music video is Sort Out.

Malone (born Donovan Drysdale) says bigger things are in the offing.

“I have some projects in the pipeline that will surprise many when they are released,” he said.

In addition to Sort Out, another new Thugsy Malone song is Weh Mi Come From, produced by Rohan ‘Sno Cone’ Fuller.

Masicka leaves it to Karma

Masicka is putting a lot of muscle behind his new single, Karma.

According to the deejay, the song reaffirms the popular adage that what goes around comes around’.

Masicka has also released the video for the song Why Me a Work which is directed by Short Filmz Jamaica. It is a joint production between Swiss label Hemp Higher Productions and One Motion Music.

Masicka’s best known songs are Baddest, Go Hard and No Big Deal.
