With Ease linking events to service providers
ANDREA Wilson-Green wants to be the link between an event planner and service providers. Her catalogue, With Ease, has so far got it done.
The director and editor-in-chief of With Ease started off making wedding invitations.
But after receiving inquiries about where to source caterers and photographers, Wilson-Green knew she could take her business to another level.
“It’s about having information at my fingertips and being able to provide it to my customers as well. I wanted to have a list of preferred vendors for personal use but decided to extend it (to others),” she said.
Now, she has 27 companies advertising in her catalogue, creating revenue for the business.
But those numbers are expected to increase with the addition of videos to her website.
And by the second issue of the catalogue in May, the email blasts that are sent to some 10,000 persons and cold calls should get more advertisers on board.
Wilson-Green has also created an online version of With Ease. Even from the mobile phones, persons can request a menu from a caterer or view the works of a photographer they are considering.
“I want persons to be engaged with what is being advertised,” Wilson-Green said.
Videos will help to appeal to the senses and captivate the person who is planning an event, she added.
The Observer Mogul in the Making finalist printed the first issue of her catalogue last November.
But advertising isn’t directly done on the website, customers pay for the spaces that are in the catalogue. The online version includes advertisers who missed out on the printed version.
“The catalogue can be edited, so I just include new advertisers in the online version,” she said. “And their space in the hardcopy is guaranteed,” she said.
What’s more, she provides tips and advice for weddings and events in the catalogues.
Sometimes individuals don’t know where to start, Wilson-Green said.
“Once you hold the book, you aren’t only finding a wedding or event planner, you’re getting guidelines,” she said.
To remain relevant, Wilson-Green said she came up with a product that isn’t quite common.
Observer’s Mogul in the Making was a big boost to Wilson-Green’s confidence. The valuable business techniques and tips have helped her to stay afloat and improve her product.
“I didn’t place in the top three, but it motivated me to work harder. The catalogue and my new office space are just some of my successes,” she said.
Until recently, she operated the business in a nutrition club she owns on Lyndhurst Road.
She now has an office, just metres away for With Ease, allowing advertisers to speak directly with her representatives and sign off on contracts.
“With everyone making magazines and catalogues and placing them online, I had to be different,” Wilson-Green said. “I researched and found that a service like mine wasn’t quite available.”
A review section is also in the pipeline. “I want customers to rate the advertisers and comment on how the work was done,” she said.
