Young farmer dies after being struck by lightning

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – Observer Online is confirming that a 23-year-old farmer died after being struck by lightning Thursday in Cabbage Valley, St Elizabeth.

People close to the deceased confirm original police reports that the young farmer was repairing a fence on a dairy farm when a metal pole he was working on was struck by lightning.

He died on the spot.

The St Elizabeth Police are investigating this death by misadventure.
