PNP delegation heads to China on official trip
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A five-member People’s National Party (PNP) delegation is heading to China for a series of meetings coordinated by the Communist Party of China.
The delegation which left the island Monday is led by party chairman Robert Pickersgill, and will join similar delegations from two other Caribbean countries for meetings looking at Rural Development, Women Development, Agriculture, Tourism and Communications.
In a release Tuesday, the PNP said it expects one of the key outcomes to be “the deepening of inter-party relationships between the PNP and the host Party as well as exploring developmental opportunities between our countries and Caricom”.
Other members of the PNP delegation are: North Eastern St Elizabeth Member of Parliament and Deputy General Secretary (Communications) Raymond Pryce, Senator and Regional Secretary for Region 3, Sophia Fraser-Binns, Vice-president of the Women’s Movement Viviene Douglas, and former General Secretary of the Youth Organisation Ricardo James.
The delegation will leave China on October 31.
