Cell phone witness glitch forces adjournment of Kartel trial
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Vybz Kartel murder trial has adjourned until 2 o’clock this afternoon because of a glitch surrounding expert cell phone witnesses.
Justice Lennox Campbell granted the adjournment to allow a meeting with the expert witnesses from Digicel cellular phone company regarding the case.
The meeting was to take place Monday, however, attorney Tom Tavares-Finson told the court Tuesday morning that when the attorney went to the place where the meeting was scheduled the receptionist informed them that the persons were unavailable, and that the system that would allow them to see what they wanted was down.
In grating the adjournment Campbell remarked that he hoped that Digicel makes these persons available. He asked that the DPP get involved to make this possible “so that the matter can go on.”
