Robbery the motive for murder of 70-y-o man -– police

MANDEVILLE, Jamaica — Further investigations into the murder of 70-year-old returning resident Herbert McKail have led police to believe that robbery was the motive for the killing.

McKail was shot and killed in his home on Perth Drive in Mandeville, by unknown assailants on Saturday, November 30.

Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth told OBSERVER ONLINE that it was discovered that the assailants took a licensed firearm and a quantity of jewelry from the premises.

Investigations are ongoing.
