Great vibes in St Bess
THOUSANDS of persons turned out for the BOOM 21st Century Night Entertainment held at Pedro Cross in St Elizabeth on Sunday.
The event, now in its third year and eighth staging, started at 9:00 pm and ended minutes to 3:00 am. It saw contestants displaying their skills in deejaying, dancing, and football.
“When I looked around nothing was happening in St Elizabeth on a Sunday, I decided to come up with something that drew them (people) out,” said Clive Todd, managing director of 21st Century Supermarket.
The patrons on hand were well entertained.
The evening saw deejay Shemo easily dispatching his female rival Lava to secure a cash prize of $100,000. Lava got half that amount for her purse.
Dance outfit Fusion, armed with plenty of theatrics and innovative moves, stood head and shoulders above Global Dancers. Fusion’s creativity and passion put them $100,000 in the black.
The five-a-side football competiton saw Newell being victorious and earning $200,000.
Before the end of the day’s events, Todd had plans for the ninth season to a national television audience.
“We need to finalise plans with the television station,” he said.
