Samantha J rocks the USA again

SAMANTHA J’s second promotional tour in the United States took place this month, with the 17-year-old Jamaican artiste commencing BET’s Young Starz Week, and her ascension in the USA, landing at number 5 on CNN’s HLN’s Top Ten List.

On HLN, she had a live televised sit-down AJ Hammer on Showbiz Tonight to talk about her musical trek in both the Jamaica and internationally.

On BET’s iconic 106 & Park programme, Samantha J performed Tight Skirt and was interviewed by hosts Bow Wow and Keisha Chante.

Speaking on one of her most memorable moments on the trip, Samantha J expressed that:

“While on the train from New York City to Washington, DC, a man was two seats down from me was listening to Tight Skirt, and I could hear it through his speakers. That feeling was amazing. It was an honour wave the Jamaican flag high at 106 & Park and Showbiz Tonight. I can’t wait for more opportunities like this in 2014 with the new singles I have coming out.”

Tight Skirt is already being spun on over 50 stations in the United States, including Sirius/XM The Heat, Power 105 NYC, WJMN Boston, and WZMX Hartford.

Last month, several hundred fans stood outside the Clear Channel offices in Boston for hours to meet Samantha J and her tour partner, YouTube superstar, Andrea Russett.

Gary Bernstein, president of Oceanic Tradewinds Music, Samantha J’s American record label noted that: Since the release of Tight Skirt, Samantha J’s social numbers, over the course of only three months, have been staggering. She has amassed more than one million YouTube views and over 50,000 Facebook fans and Twitter followers.

Featuring a sample from the 1990s classic dancehall track Tight Up Skirt by Red Rat, Samantha J’s track has become one of the most popular songs in Jamaica for 2013, topping major charts throughout the island, including Entertainment Report and Hype TV’s video countdowns respectively.

Listeners can look out for more Samantha J songs to be released from her Oceanic Tradewinds and Washroom Entertainment partnership, and can follow the happenings of her career through her social media handles @SamanthaJLive on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
