VCB in Jamaica team for World Indoor champs
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Two time 60m defending champion Veronica Campbell Brown has been included on the 23 member Jamaican team that will participate at the IAAF World Indoor Championships to be held in Sopot, Poland, March 7 to 9.
A day after she was officially cleared of drug charges by the Court for Arbitration in Sports (CAS) Campbell Brown was named by the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) selection committee.
Campbell Brown who won gold medals at the last two World Indoors will join World Championships triple gold medals Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Olympic and World Championship triple jump finalist Kimberly Williams.
Nesta Carter who won the silver medal in the men’s 60m at the most recent World Indoor Championship, heads the men’s team that includes World Championships hurdles finalists Andrew Riley, former World University shot put champion O’Dayne Richards and long jump finalist Damar Forbes.
Maurice Wilson will be the technical leader while Fitz Coleman and Paul Francis have been named as coaches.
