Excelsior, Lennon score big wins in schoolgirl football
Excelsior High and Lennon High schools yesterday continued to dominate
their respective zones in the Inter-secondary Schools Sports
Association (ISSA)/KFC/Locker-Room Sports Schoolgirl football
competition after convincing 17-0 victories over Campion and Mile Gully, respectively.
Excelsior High (12 points) kept their perfect record in Zone F after their big win over Campion College. They are joined at the top of the
zone by Jonathan Grant (12 points), who also kept their record intact
with a 4-1 victory over Bridgeport High, while Tivoli Gardens High (six
points), occupy third spot, defeating Immaculate 6-0.
Lennon High moved up to 10 points and are still at the top of Zone C,
after they schooled Mile Gully High. Christiana High (nine points)
kept up the chase after they ran out 9-0 winners over Glenmuir High,
while Camperdown High (three points) gained their first point of the
season after they thrashed Cumberland High 5-0 in the only Zone G
fixture.
In Zone E, Ardenne High (12 points), continue to lead the group after a 3-1 win over Tarrant High, Innswood High (nine points) had a
2-1 win over Wolmer’s, while Edith Dalton and Spanish Town played to a
1-1 draw.
Zone A saw Rusea’s having a 1-0 win over Spot Valley, Westwood and
Montego Bay High played to a 0-0 draw, so too did St James High and
Muschett High.
The competition continues today with Old Harbour High taking on
McGrath High and Tacius Golding playing at home to Ewarton High in
Zone D.
Black river will welcome DeCarteret College and Lacovia High
will take on St Elizabeth Technical in Zone B fixtures.
