Golf association revives interclub championship
This weekend several teams from golf clubs across the island will be participating in the revamped interclub Championship.
The tournament has generated some excitement in the golfing community as it is a historic one. In the past, members competed at various host clubs for the Arthur Ziadie Cup under a stableford format.
To date, the Caymanas Golf & Country Club, Cinnamon Hill Golf Club, Constant Spring Golf Club and the joint team comprised of the Runaway Bay Golf Club & Sandals Golf & Country Club members will all be fielding teams under the auspices of the Jamaica Golf Association.
This leg of the championship will tee off at the Constant Spring Golf Club with each group consisting of 10 or more members. The best 10 nett scores will determine the current standings.
Over the next few months, the rounds will be hosted by clubs islandwide, which gives players the opportunity to test their golfing skills at each venue. The club that emerges with the best standings at the end of series will be crowned the winner.
