Violet Kickers look to extend lead in Zone B

VIOLET Kickers will be seeking to extend their lead in Zone B of the St James Football Association Sandals/ATL/Honda Senior League this afternoon when they take on Lilliput Rovers in a return-round game at Jarrett Park, the second match of a triple header, set to start at 5:00 pm.
Violet Kickers lead a charging Little Miami by four points (16-12) after both teams have played eight games each with Seba FC next on 10 points and Lilliput Rovers further down the order on seven points with just one win from their seven games played.
Also today, Reggae Youths will seek to pull closer to Zone A leaders Fogo United when they take on Catherine Hall in the opening game, while Salt Spring United and Revelation FC will meet in the third game.
Violet Kickers and Lilliput Rovers had drawn their first round game 1-1 at Wyndham, but the promoted Lilliput who had got off to a good start, have faltered since and have one point to show from their last three games.
In comparison, Violet Kickers who have conceded the least number of goals (six) in the zone, are still unbeaten and should start favourites to win again this evening.
Violet Kickers are coming off a 1-1 draw against Little Miami last Friday where they led early in the second half, but gave up a goal late in the game.
Reggae Youths have not won in three games, losing once and drawing the last two and should be eager to face a Catherine Hall outfir who have not won in their last six outings, losing four of them.
Reggae Youths had started slowly then won three in a row before their first loss, going down to Fogo United and facing a team that is struggling as bad as Catherine Hall may be the tonic they need to snap out of the slump.
In the late game, fourth-placed Revelation and last-placed Salt Spring United, separated by two points and after drawing 2-2 in the first round, will both be desperate for a win.
Revelation FC are on nine points with two wins, the most recent coming four rounds ago, while Salt Spring have one win, coming two rounds ago against Seba FC.
