KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica’s Glenroy ‘Bumpy’ Beckford (Green Team) will take on Barbadian boxer Christopher Henry of Team Caribbean (Yellow Team) in the third bout of the Wray and Nephew Contender boxing series 4th season on Wednesday.

The Yellow Team won the week’s physical challenge against the Green Team, with Henry handpicking Beckford as his opponent.

Organisers changed the format of the Contender boxing series fourth season with the Green Team comprising Jamaican boxers while the Yellow Team consists of boxers from the wider Caribbean including Guyana, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago.

The Green Team is coached by Carl Grant and the Yellow Team coached by Andrew Boland. Boxers are vying for $3 million in prize money with the winner receiving $2 million and the runner-up $500,000.

The Wray & Nephew Contender bouts for the season are held each Wednesday at the Chinese Benevolent Association (CBA) on Hope Road in Kingston and on TVJ at 9:30pm.
