Oprah and Gayle vacay in Virgin Islands

People Post

Their special intimate friendship has endured an impressive 38 years. And Oprah Winfrey brought along her best friend Gayle King on a yacht cruise of Magens Bay Beach in the Virgin Islands last week. The 60-year-old media mogul appeared excited for their boating adventure in the Caribbean, entirely clad in preppy white. The OWN CEO’s vessel — which featured solar panelling — toured the Bay’s picturesque white sand beach stretching three-quarters of a mile. Not seen with Oprah and Gayle was the legendary talk show host’s partner of 28 years, Stedman Graham. The Oscar-nominated diva and her 59-year-old gal pal are practically inseparable, which has led to persistent gay rumours. “I am not lesbian. I am not even kind of lesbian,” The Butler star told Barbara Walters on ABC News in 2010. “That irritates me because it means somebody must think I’m lying. That is not the way I run my life.” Oprah even appointed Gayle as editor-at-large of O — The Oprah Magazine. “She’s the mother I never had. She is the sister everybody would want,” a teary Winfrey continued. “She is the friend everybody deserves. I don’t know a better person.”

Looking purrfect!

She usually favours very feminine looks, but Taylor Swift is experimenting with her style after lopping off her locks.

The singer looked striking as she wore a chic tomboy ensemble while leaving her apartment in Tribeca, New York City on Sunday.

The I Knew You Were Trouble hitmaker sported a tailored blue blazer, a classic button-down blue shirt that was tucked into a pair of rust-coloured skinny trousers and black ankle boots. She also carried a brown J. Mendel satchel as well as a very important accessory in the form of a carrying case with her pet cat Meredith inside. The cute feline’s face was visible through the mesh-sided bag as the two best friends headed out for the day. Taylor seemed to be in good spirits after moving into not one but two apartments in the trendy New York neighbourhood, adding to her already extensive property portfolio.

Efron’s friends fear he’s fallen off wagon

His worried friends fear he has fallen off the wagon, but Zac Efron has no time for their sympathy or concern. And the 26-year-old actor, who got into a brawl in a sketchy part of downtown Los Angeles near Skid Row last week, is reportedly cutting contact with any pals who voice their worry about his behaviour.

According to TMZ, friends of Zac, who has allegedly been treated for ‘cocaine addiction’ twice in the past year, are “too scared to broach the subject with Zac” because they are worried he will cut them from his life. Zac became involved in a brawl in LA’s deprived Skid Row area and admitted it’s the ‘hardest’ he’s been hit in his life. He was struck in the face after he and his bodyguard got involved in an altercation with at least three ‘transients’ in a ‘very bad area’ of downtown Los Angeles last weekend, law enforcement sources told TMZ. Following the reported attack, Zac, who broke his jaw in November, is quoted by the website as saying: “It was the hardest I’ve ever been hit in my life.”

Police were patrolling in the Harbour Freeway area when they are said to have seen Zac and a man he identified as his bodyguard involved in a fracas. The officers broke up the fight and then questioned Zac about what was happening, but didn’t arrest anyone because they viewed the ruckus as ‘mutual combat’. Zac is said to have told them that he and his bodyguard were sitting in their car because they had run out of fuel; a source later told TMZ the crew were headed to a restaurant in Little Tokyo at 12.30 am. It’s a strange area to find an affluent actor in; Skid Row is the last train stop in the U.S for those travelling west and became a makeshift community for indigents from all over America.
