Nickel Ashmeade beats Weir in Doha 200m

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica’s Nickel Ashmeade (20.13) beat favoured teammate Warren Weir to win the 200m at the first Diamond League meeting of the 2014 athletic season Friday in Doha, Qatar.

Olympic bronze medallist Weir finished in 20.31seconds ahead of Qatar’s Femi Ogunode (20 38).

Another Jamaican, Rasheed Dwyer, finished fifth in a season best 20.48.
