BRASÍLIA, June 30, 2014 (AFP) — A header by Paul Pogba and a Joseph Yobo own goal sent France through to the World Cup quarter-finals on Monday as the French beat African champions Nigeria 2-0 in Brasilia.

France — who have not been beaten inside 90 minutes in a World Cup knockout match since the 1986 semi-finals — will play either Germany or Algeria in Rio de Janeiro on Friday.
