CARICOM approves 5-year plan to address teenage pregnancy in region
GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC) – The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has approved a five year strategy aimed at reducing the number of adolescent pregnancies in each country of the English and Dutch speaking Caribbean by at least 20 per cent during the period 2014 – 2019.
The CARICOM Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD) gave its approval to the plan that was developed by a multi-sectoral regional task force led by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in collaboration with the Guyana-based CARICOM Secretariat.
