Jacques Road man shot dead in exchange with police
KINGSTON, Jamaica—A man was shot and killed allegedly by the police in Rollington Town, Kingston Friday evening, while a man who was found injured along a roadway in Ocho Rios on Thursday died at hospital, also on Friday.
According to police reports, a team of officers was patrolling the Rollington Town area about 5:30 pm Friday when they stopped to search a group of men. It is reported that two men then rode up on a red motor cycle and opened fire at the cops who returned the gunfire.
Twenty-seven-year-old Eric Riley of Jacques Road was shot during the incident and was pronounced dead at hospital.
Meanwhile the police say that 31-year-old Rohan Miller who was found along an Ochi Rios roadway suffering from a wound to the head succumbed to the injuries on Friday around 2:00 am.
