ASHENE Brown, a 19-year-old University of Technology student, an aspiring pharmacist is our feature for Teen Talk this week. Sashene expresses herself:

teenAGE: Tell us about you in a few sentences:

Sashene Brown (SB): I’d say I’m a typical girl, but others have disagreed with me on that matter many times. I’m a warm, kind-hearted, steadfast and passionate person. I’ve been raised by two very special people who have taught me so many values in life and who are partly responsible for the great person I am today.

teenAGE: What would you do if money were no object?

SB: Being an animal lover, I’d start this non-profit organisation that facilitates and cares for stray, sick and abused animals. Seeing animals out on the street tugs at my heart and I’d love to do something for them. And, did I mention dancing, my lifelong recreational dream is to be a terrific Latin dancer and fluent spanish speaker. I’d go to Havana, Cuba, become assimilated in the society for about five years where I learn how to dance professionally and speak fluently. Then I’d return to my normal life.

teenAGE: Who is your celebrity style icon? Why?

SB: Logan Browning, I admire her sophisticated mode of attire, her make-up that doesn’t create, but enhances her beauty. I like the way she accessorises, her style really appeals to me.

teenAGE: What is the best thing about being a teenager?

SB: We are at the optimal point of life where important decisions regarding our future should be made. Along with that, teenage years is the phase of life where valuable life lessons can be learnt from mistakes we’ve made. And we develop ways to can go about preventing them in the future.

teenAGE: Recently, there has been an ongoing debate, what’s your take, Iggy Azuela or Nicki Minaj?

SB: Nicki Minaj, she possesses more talents than Iggy. She sings, raps, acts, the whole works. This is purely my opinion. Iggy may have these talents also, but it’s Nicki Minaj whom I’ve seen displaying them. Plus Nicki, she’s grown on me, I’ve known her for a longer time than Iggy. Her spontaneous fashion and style also captivate me.
