SATURDAY night’s Import Tuner Night 2014: Street Tuner Night at the National Stadium’s parking lot in St Andrew was a life changing moment for Rajik Brown as he found himself winner of the show’s grand prize, the Skunk’d Out 1995 Honda Civic hatchback.

“I’m lost for words,” Brown told Auto, after collecting the keys from Ronald Donaldson, sales manager Tropical Battery.

It was an emotional moment as the 22-year-old sprinted from the crowd onto the stage where he held back the tears.

“This car is a keeper. I’ll never sell it and I’ll be flying the Skunk Nation flag high,” he said.

The gift of the car couldn’t have come at a better time. He had celebrated his birthday the previous week and attended ITN with hope of winning his first ever car.

“As a Christian man, I have faith and I told my co-workers back in St Ann that I was coming to ITN to pick up my car,” Brown joked.

For ITN itself, organisers Nick Lue, Stephen Wong and Eddie Bond — Skunk Nation founders — were more than satisfied with the third staging of the aftermarket performance community’s biggest event.

“I want to thank the people for the support. We continue to show everyone that ITN is the biggest import performance lifestyle show not only in the island, but in the Caribbean,” said Bond.

ITN continued to feature the best rides in the island with several awards going out to the Best of Brand categories through out the night. Lessons learnt from 2013 saw lights all across the venue to give fans a clear view of the cars on display. The Miss Skunk Nation contest continued to be a highlight as were the musical performances from Denyque and 10-year-old Wayne J.

“The show was better organised than last year due to the efforts of everyone,” Lue said.

Lue explained that Skunk Nation will take stock of this year’s ITN before planning starts on the 2015 event. Their focus now turns to their mobile app, which they plan to launch in a month’s time.
