JLP says 15 more candidates confirmed for local govt elections
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Dr Horace Chang, general secretary of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) says fifteen local government candidates were confirmed during the party’s central executive elections last Sunday at its Belmont Road headquarters.
The local government election is expected to take place next March.
Chang said that two new constituency caretakers were also confirmed during the elections. They are businesswoman Fayval Williams for Eastern St Andrew and attorney-at -law Senator Alexander Williams for East Rural St Andrew.
Faval Williams is a member of the Economic Advisory Commission of the party and Senator Williams is the Opposition Spokesperson on Justice.
