VIDEO: Opa! adds Santorini Skylounge

?The much-buzzed about Opa! Greek Restaurant has added a skylounge aptly named Santorini. The comfy lounge adjacent to the restaurant was created, according to its affable owner Alexx Antaeus, for life’s celebrations in a down-to-earth atmosphere of fun.

The feel is decidedly Santorini — a sea of blue and white with cosy vignettes on the lower level and an upstairs deck where one can sip and watch the evening traffic or look to the mountains for solace. Antaeus’s one watchword is ‘Respect’: “All I ask patrons to do is respect each other. Anyone can come to relax, enjoy a few drinks, order from our special menu or Opa’s menu. There’s music and a cool atmosphere.”

There was no disputing that in between nibbles of Greek delicacies like Pikilia, Kotosouvlaki, Keftedakia, Gyros, and Spanakopita created by Alexx Antaeus and Jeff Waite, and signature cocktails – Opa! Blue Cosmo and Opa! Blue Mojito.

Alexx Antaeus is not daunted when asked if there’s room for another lounge in Kingston. Indeed, the attendance of players in what is considered by many to be a highly competitive entertainment industry did not go unnoticed by Thursday Life and spoke volumes about the need for all to support the landscape.

“There’s room for us all,” is his immediate response as he glances at the marble sculpture of Nike, the winged goddess of victory…

Opa! Greek Restaurant and Santorini Skylounge welcomes guests from 4:00 pm until the last person leaves.
