Hundreds pay their respects at Thanksgiving Service for Rev Glen Archer
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaicans from all walks of life turned up in their numbers today to pay their finals respects to the late Rev Glen Archer at the Ardenne High School Auditorium in St Andrew. Rev Archer died on February 15.
Rev Archer,61, was a dedicated teacher, who rose to national prominence for his work in guiding and preparing youngsters for the annual Spelling Bee competition.
Archer coached Jody- Anne Maxwell to a historic victory in the prestigious Scripps Howard Spelling Bee (now the National Spelling Bee) in the United States in 1998.
Minister of Education, Ronald Thwaites and leader of the Opposition Andrew Holness are in attendance.
