GRANVILLE, St James — Leaders Sandals Whitehouse, former champions Granville FC and Salt Marsh United all scored lopsided victories in Wednesday’s round of matches in the Jamaica Football Federation Charley’s JB Rum Western Confederation Super League.

The three teams combined for 22 of the 24 goals that were scored in four games as Granville scored their highest margin of victory in years with a 9-0 demolition of Violet Kickers; Sandals Whitehouse had a team record 8-0 win over Jericho Rangers, while Salt Marsh equalled their highest output with a 5-0 win over Holland United.

In another game on Wednesday, Beaches Negril and Montego Bay Boys Club drew 1-1, the same score between St James teams Wadadah FC and Tomorrow’s People a day earlier.

Savannah SC stayed in second place as they were awarded points after Village United failed to show for their game at Frome on Wednesday.

Sandals Whitehouse lead the standings with 41 points, one more than Savannah SC with Granville FC in third place on 36 points and Wadadah FC fourth on 32.

Oneil Blair scored a hat-trick to lead Sandals Whitehouse, while Alwayne Samuels and Dervin Campbell had two goals each. Samuels gave Sandals the opening goals in the fifth minute and Blair scored in the 22nd and 30th minutes to make the score 3-0 at half-time.

Samuels got his second in the 51st minute, while Andre Vassell got a goal in the 62nd to make the score 5-0. Campbell got his first in the 65th minute, while Blair and Campbell scored twice in less than a minute in the 70th.

It was one-way traffic at Granville as the home team led 6-0 at half-time with three players scoring doubles.

Julian Fisher scored in the 13th and 27th minutes, Patrick James in the 72nd and 74th and Ian Peterkin in the 73rd and 87th minutes, while Troy Reid, Otis Hudson and Jermaine Jackson scored one goal each.

Salt Marsh had scored five times in a shock win over Wadadah FC in December and equalled it on Wednesday as Oshane Hunter led the way with a hat-trick, scoring in the fourth, 10th and 51st minutes. Also scoring were Garrel Gooden in the 17th minute and Travis Watson in the 88th.

At Long Bay Beach Park, Kenneth Smith gave the home team Beaches Negril the lead in the 16th minute before Leroy Christie equalised in the 24th.
