Edwin Allen win by a city block
Edwin Allen High cruised to a third title, retaining their girls’ crown at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships, which ended at the National Stadium in a blaze of glory last night.
In front of another massive crowd of well over 30,000 cheering spectators, the Michael Dyke-coached team built on what was a smaller-than-expected lead coming into the day to run away with the title.
Edwin Allen led Hydel High by a mere 18.5 points after 20 finals on Friday night, 131.5 to 113, with St Jago High on 86.33, and former champions Holmwood Technical on 75.
