VMBS Under-13 football continues today
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Two former champions, Corinaldi Avenue Primary, and Glendevon Primary will start their quest for a title when the St James Football Association VMBS Under-13 competition continues today with a triple-header at the UDC Field.
Two-time champions Corinaldi Avenue will meet Barrett Town in the first game set for 10:00 am, followed by Green Pond Primary against Salt Spring, while former champions Glendevon and Flankers meet in the third game set for 12:30 pm.
All six teams will be playing their first games.
The competition kicked off last Wednesday with 31 teams taking part.
On Thursday, Chetwood Primary gave Chatsworth Primary a warm welcome, beating them 8-0 with Tavine Sterling scoring the season’s first hat-trick and Christopher Pearson and Brandon Richards each getting two goals.
Catherine Hall beat Barracks Road 3-1 in a match-up of former champions, while Montego Bay Christian Academy and Granville Primary drew 0-0.
On Friday, Albion beat Montego Bay Prep 1-0 with Dayon McCallum scoring; Roehampton Primary beat new comers Builders Prep 2-0 with goals from Carlington Payne and Oratio Brown, and Howard Cooke beat Somerton 2-0 with Markino Haughton and Johan Fraser scoring.
