Road to be widened ahead of wind farm expansion
MANCHESTER, Jamaica – Starting Tuesday, for approximately two months, some roadways in Manchester and St Elizabeth will be reduced to single lane traffic.
The National Works Agency along with Pavecon Limited announced in the press recently that the traffic changes would occur between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
“This is to facilitate road widening and reinstatement works for the transportation of oversized equipment required for the expansion of the Munro Wind Farm in St Elizabeth,” the advisory said recently.
The roadways to be affected in Manchester are: Spur Tree main road, Montpelier, Port Kaiser to New Forest, New Forest Road intersection and Downs intersection. While, in St Elizabeth, sections of the following roadways will be reduced to single lane traffic: Junction, corner at Max’s Auto, Ballards Valley intersection, corner at Island Auto Parts, Kinkead Plaza, and Munro.
