Hyde withdraws from Pan Am Junior Champs
KINGSTON, Jamaica – On the advice of his doctor, Jaheel Hyde has pulled out of the Pan American Junior Championships in Canada.
His withdrawal comes after an “unusually lengthy” 2014 season.
In a media release Tuesday, Hyde said that he would end his 2015 season in order to rest, recuperate and recover from fatigue and soreness of the muscles.
“After treatment and therapy, the prognosis favoured the decision to end the season and refresh for a greater 2016 return,” the release said.
Hyde did not compete in the finals of the 400m hurdles at the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) National Senior Championships two weeks ago due to an aggravated hamstring.
In the release, he thanked the JAAA for selection to the Pan American Junior Championships, LIME, other sponsors, his coaching staff, well-wishers, and all who have supported him.
