Only the ‘Best’ for the Girls
THE Best Dressed Chicken hosted a special farewell luncheon for the Sunshine Girls at the Spanish Court Hotel last Tuesday. The Sunshine Girls are set to depart the island on July 31 to participate in the 2015 World Cup, scheduled for Sydney, Australia, August 7-16.
Joan Forrest-Henry, divisional sales and marketing manager at Best Dressed Chicken, said that her company is behind the Sunshine Girls 100 per cent.
“The Best Dressed Chicken is pleased to continue our sponsorship of the Sunshine Girls as the team heads to Australia for the Netball World Cup. We want to let them know that we are behind them all the way and we know they will do their best and make Jamaica proud,” she said.
“We at Jamaica Broilers understand the need to support and sustain sports in Jamaica. We chose to do so with the Sunshine Girls and will continue to assist them all we can,” she added.
Marva Bernard, president of Netball Jamaica (NJ), in response said:
“Nothing less than a podium finish is expected for the Netball World Cup and we want to at least improve on our bronze medal from last year’s Commonwealth Games.”
Sunshine Girls captain Nicole Aiken-Pinnock is confident the team will do well as they have been training hard and developing their strategies for maximum success.
“I am excited going into this World Cup, but we could not have gotten this far without all the people supporting us, from our management team and sponsors.
“The Best Dressed Chicken, our ‘all the way’ sponsor, has been generous and considerate in providing this social wardrobe to wear in Australia. There are no words to express our gratitude,” Aiken-Pinnock said.
