Golding expresses sadness at attorney’s death
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Justice Minister Senator Mark Golding has expressed sadness at the tragic passing of attorney-at-law George Thomas.
Thomas, who was president of Cornwall Bar Association, died as a result of injuries he received in a two-vehicle crash Thursday, along the Elegant Corridor in the vicinity of Ironshore, St James.
“Mr Thomas has made a significant contribution to the legal professional and community in Western Jamaica, which was acknowledged in 2010 when he was conferred with the Order of Distinction,” Golding said in a statement Thursday.
He said it was his expertise and record of service at the private bar which led to his election in March as president of the Cornwall Bar Association.
Golding also expressed condolences on behalf of the Government to Thomas’ family, colleagues and friends.
