Close call in T&T for RDX
DANCEHALL Duo RDX’s August 22 concert in Trinidad and Tobago may have won them new fans, but it was almost marred by an unpleasant encounter.
The entertainers stated that upon arrival at the Island Rave venue in San Fernando, they and their team were searched by security who alerted police to what they claimed was a firearm in road manager Kirk Wright’s bag.
According to group member Renigade, “They surrounded our vehicle with guns out, we were told that we had to exit our vehicle for them to search for the firearm inside. They conducted a thorough search of everyone as well.”
The ‘firearm’ turned out to be a stack of promotional CDs. Renigade said they received no apology from the police or security.
RDX, which also includes Delomar, are popular in the twin-island republic which they visit at least twice a year. On their latest trip, they filmed the video for their song Push Back which was shot by Cashflow Xtreme Arts.
