UPDATE: Erika weakens to trough of low pressure

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Meteorological (Met) Service of Jamaica says at 8:30 am the remnants of Erika was located near Latitude 21.5 degrees north and Longitude 75.9 degrees west or about 205 kilometres east of Camaguey, Cuba.

The remnants are moving toward the west-northwest near 35 km/h, and this general motion is expected to continue for the next 24 hours the Met Service said in a news release Saturday.

It said the remnants are expected to move near the coast of eastern and central Cuba today and tonight and into the southeastern Gulf of Sunday.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 55 km/h, with higher gusts.
