Spookie profits from Hurt it UP
GROWING up in the Tower Hill community of Kingston, singer Jason White would often visit Friends for Real studio to show his talent.
A former student of Mount Carmel Academy, he and friends would beat desks during lunchtime, creating beats while performing for their schoolmates.
Now known as Spookie, he is making moves with the song Hurt it Up which is produced by Braintear Music. Released just over one year ago, Hurt it Up has been an underground hit in London where he lives, as well as in New York clubs.
“It is just getting popular in Jamaica,” said Spookie, adding that, “So far, the song has opened up many doors for me.”
Spookie, who is in his early 20s, moved to London in 2013. He made his recording debut one year earlier when he recorded Move Yuh Body for Danny Minott, son of Sugar Minott.
Since relocating to London, he has recorded for E5 Records, Wonder Boy Entertainment, J Crazy and TJ Records.
Spookie’s follow-up singles include Fall in Love, Nah Sell Out and Commitment.
