Lisa Hanna summoned before contractor general
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Government minister Lisa Hanna has again been thrown in the spotlight with a summons to appear before the contractor general for questioning.
OBSERVER ONLINE has learnt that Hanna, the member of parliament for the St Ann South Eastern Constituency, has been personally served with a summons from the Office of the Contractor General (OCG) in the last week and a half.
She’s yet to appear before the OCG for questioning regarding an investigation that has been launched into the awarding of contracts in St Ann South Eastern. Thirty persons were last month summoned in regards to this investigation.
Queen’s Counsel KD Knight is expected to represent Hanna.
“Appearing before the contractor general is giving evidence about something they are inquiring into that is what it is about,” Knight told OBSERVER ONLINE.
He added: “It is not in any shape or form an indictment that is being proffered against her, it is to give assistance to the contractor general investigations.”
When contacted by OBSERVER ONLINE, Contractor General Dirk Harrison declined to comment on the matter.
More information later.
