Dunga disappoints, Man City to be sanctioned… and more
Hey teenAGErs , we are here to bring you your weekly dose of football news. From the commencement of a FIFA competition , confusion again in CONMEBOL, and everything in between, here are five things you might have missed:
1. The Under-17 FIFA World Cup has started to heat up. A total of 52 games are supposed to be played to determine which country has the best under 17 team. Nigeria, the defending champions are having a fantastic tournament only conceeding one goal and may be in line to win again. The Under-17 World Cup saw Cesc Fàbregas and Toni Kroos being outstanding players back in the day. Word on the street is there are some pretty talented youngsters playing. Thankfully, it is being shown on local tv. Give it a watch!
2. Manchester City might be getting fined for their fans booing while the UEFA Champions League anthem was being played on Wednesday of this week in their game against Sevilla. It is reported than the Man City fans booed as a symbol of their disapproval for the financial fair play sanctions imposed on the club. Manuel Pellegrini , the Manchester City’s manager, has expressed his support of the fans booing.
3. Brazil’s coach Dunga is confusing everyone with his selection again. This week he announced the squad for Brazil’s two crucial World Cup Qualifying games against Argentina and Peru. Firstly Dunga has chosen to drop goal keeper Jefferson for 23 year old Alisson. Another new additon to the squad is Neymar as his match ban has now ended. The biggest shock of all is the Phillipe Coutinho has been left off the squad list. In addition to that there is still no Thiago Silva. Does Dunga know how crucial it is for his side to beat Argentina and Peru?
4. Liverpool is still Liverpool. As we all know Liverpool has a new coach Jurgen Klopp, of whom much is expected. However Liverpool has failed to produce the kind of results everyone is expecting and pretty much no one blames Klopp. Liverpool played their Europa League match at Anfield against Rubin Kazan. Unfortunately the game ended 1-1. Brendan Rogers was sacked after a draw at Anfield and now even with a new coach they still drew at Anfield. Different coaches but they are playing the same football.
5. Where is Eden Hazard going? After Jose Mourinho benched Hazard, rumours started going around that he is unhappy at Chelsea. Accompanying that claim , were rumours that Hazard was seeking a transfer to Real Madrid. Yes, Hazard has been a shadow of himself lately, failing to score in 13 matches, but a move to Real Madrid is hardly credible. On that note has Benzema reached Old Trafford yet?
