Dec 2 funeral for Brian Rosen

THE thanksgiving service for photographer Brian Rosen will be held at St Jude’s Anglican Church in Stony Hill, St Andrew, on December 2.

Rosen, 71 died at his Norbrook home last Saturday.

“He died peacefully in his sleep. We will not be doing an autopsy as the family is somewhat aware of his cause of death,”

said his niece, Stephanie Rosen.

Rosen was a photographer for more than 30 years. His risqué shots of skimpily clad models were popular during the 1980s.

They were criticised in some quarters as pornographic, but Rosen steadfastly defended his work as art.

Among the celebrities and public figures he photographed were Britain’s Prince Charles, opera singer Luciano Pavarotti, rock singer Bryan Adams, 1993 Miss World Lisa Hanna, heavyweight boxing champion Lennox Lewis and former Jamaica prime minister Michael Manley.

His work was published in high-profile magazines including Playboy.
