Sonia Davidson has retired from Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) and her position of vice-president for group corporate communications effective December 31, 2015. Davidson, a corporate communications specialist with a Master of Arts in Business Communications and a BSc in Chemistry from UWI, started working for Supreme Ventures in 2004, having previously worked as public relations manager for the Jamaica Lottery Company.

Meanwhile, several other members of staff have received promotions, with people taking on positions of greater responsiblity last month.

James ‘Danny’ Morrison has been promoted to chief financial officer (CFO) and senior vice-president of finance. A chartered accountant with a Master of Science in Accounting from UWI and a Bachelor’s from the City University of New York, Morrison was previously the CFO and vice-president of finance. Working with Morrison is Lancelot Thomas, who has been promoted to vice-president of finance. A certified public accountant, Thomas was previously vice-president of stratgic planning and risk managment for the group.

Tashia Hutton has been promoted to vice-president of customer support and regulatory affairs. Hutton, who holds an MBA from the University of Technology, Jamaica and started with SVL in 2005, was previously assistant vice-president of regulatory and contract compliance.

Carolyn Bolt-Nicholas is now assistant vice-president for human resources and administration. Bolt-Nicholas, who holds a BSc in Business Administration from Nova South Eastern University, joined SVL in 2011 as a project assistant, later serving as administration manager and senior executive assistant to the president and CEO.
