Cocktails With — Fatima Robinson
It’s New Year’s Eve at the flippie-chic Goldeneye and Fatima Robinson, named one of Entertainment Weekly‘s 100 Most Creative People in Entertainment, is curating the music for the dance party and the choreography for the dancers. It’s a big deal and the guests are very much aware of this. Indeed, the excitement, even amongst such an august gathering, about Fatima — she choreographed Pharrell’s most memorable performance of Happy at the 2014 Academy Awards and served as performance choreographer for NBC‘s hit series The Voice — is palpable.
They can hardly be blamed, for hers is a veritable roll call of jaw-dropping events — 2011 Super Bowl Halftime show with the Black Eyed Peas, 2012 Coachella Tupac Hologram as well as the 2007 and 2009 Academy Awards which made her the second African-American woman in history to do so (Debbie Allen was the first).
Fatima is also the creative force behind new artist Meghan Trainor and was director of Trainor’s
