Ricam, Georges Valley clash in Manchester Major League
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — Pacesetters Ricam Academy will look to maintain their impressive start to the Manchester FA/Magnum/Captain’s Bakery Major League when cross-zone action continues this weekend.
The Brumalia House Knockout champions are the only unbeaten team left in the competition, occupying top spot in Zone Two on 16 points, and will look to stretch their record to seven games without defeat.
They play away to Georges Valley at deCarteret College today starting at 3:30 pm.
Georges Valley are third in Zone One on eight points from two wins and two draws, and are likely to have a hard task improving that tally, despite playing at home.
In Ricam, they will come up against the team with the best attacking and defensive statistics in the competition; they have scored some 20 goals while conceding just once in six outings.
Georges, on the other hand, have conceded two more goals (nine) than they have scored thus far.
Meanwhile, five other cross-zone games were scheduled for yesterday, where Greenvale United were to host Villa United at the Greenvale Community Centre; Alligator Pond and Mile Gully were to meet at Downs Community Centre. Defending champions Hillstars, who are also the Zone One leaders, tackle Porus today at Kirkvine, Land Settlement travel to Comfort, while Downs host Old England.
