Virgo sustained a nose injury after an aerial collision with Waterhouse FC player Jermaine ‘Tuffy’ Anderson during the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) match at Barbican Sports Complex on Sunday. The matched ended 0-0.
Virgo, with blood dripping from his face, was stretchered off the field and taken to the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) in an ambulance. Anderson was shown a yellow card for the challenge.
“He was released in the wee hours [of Monday morning] after observation and X-ray. The results came back negative, but he has pain in the neck and he will be assessed day to day. A lot of the swelling has gone down, so we are hopeful,” Price told OBSERVER ONLINE.
